How it works
Capitals are the ones governments actually sit in: Naypyidaw not Yangon, Dodoma not Dar es Salaam, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte not Colombo, and Washington D.C. rather than New York. South Africa is Pretoria here, the executive seat.
A new capital at midnight UTC. Your streak lives only in this browser.
The country list is the usual 197: the 193 United Nations members plus Vatican City, Palestine, Kosovo and Taiwan. Continents follow the UN geoscheme, so Russia, Cyprus and Kosovo count as Europe, Turkey and the Caucasus as Asia, and Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean as North America.
