How it works

Spelling is forgiving: accents, punctuation and a leading "the" are ignored, and the usual alternatives work (Czechia or Czech Republic, Ivory Coast, Burma, Eswatini or Swaziland, DRC, UAE, Bosnia). Abbreviations alone are not enough for the long names.

When the clock runs out or you give up, everything you missed appears in italics on the board and in dark ink on the map, so the gaps are obvious. Your best score is kept in this browser only.

The country list is the usual 197: the 193 United Nations members plus Vatican City, Palestine, Kosovo and Taiwan. Continents follow the UN geoscheme, so Russia, Cyprus and Kosovo count as Europe, Turkey and the Caucasus as Asia, and Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean as North America.
